About ARF

Animal Rescue Friends, Ltd (ARF) is a no-kill, foster based, all-breed dog and cat rescue serving the greater Phoenix, AZ metropolitan area. We are a 100% volunteer-based organization committed to reducing the number of animals euthanized at county shelters by rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming homeless pets in the valley of the sun.

We believe it serves the animals best to reside in a safe, comforting home environment while awaiting adoption. Thus, our pets reside in private homes where our loving fosters care for them like one of their own until the happy day when these precious pets can be placed with their new forever families.

You can meet our pets at local adoption events or at a private meet & greet scheduled after your adoption application has been approved. We do not have a facility you can visit.

ARF is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization. We are a New Hope Partner with Maricopa County Animal Care and Control (MCACC) in Arizona. In 2015 ARF extended our outreach to include rescuing dogs in need in Tipton County Tennessee.

2/9/2017 All of our "Reindeer" puppies have been adopted and are settling into their new homes. Happy life little ones!

12/1/2016 Joy! Joy! Joy! Joy! Joy! Joy! Joy! Joy to the World! That’s a LOT of JOY because ARF just took in a LOT of HAPPY puppies! These beautiful, healthy Doberman Pinscher / Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler pups will be with us through the holiday season as they prepare for adoption to their forever families sometime in mid-January.

7/26/16 Bonnie, our little Beagle mix, safely delivered her beautiful litter of puppies. Bonnie was severely underweight when rescued but she made it through the delivery just fine and is taking wonderful care of her pups. Everyone who meets this sweet girl just falls in love with her. Bonnie’s pups will be available for adoption in September.

7/10/2016 We made some design changes to the ARF website. Our website is now easier to view on your mobile device. We also streamlined content and significantly enlarged the pictures of our adoptable pets. We hope you like our new look!

7/7/2016 Our Austrailian Cattle dog, Missy, gave birth to 7 healthy puppies tonight! There are 3 boys and 4 girls. Missy is only 1 year old but is already an amazing momma!
