Become a foster!
We are dedicated to saving dogs from the Maricopa County Animal Care & Control (aka the "Pound") Euthanasia list as well as street strays and owner surrenders.
In order to save these animals, we rely on volunteers to help foster these animals. We do NOT ever board our animals as we believe it serves the animal best to reside in a comforting home environment.
Fosters are responsible for providing safe shelter, love & care, socialization & basic training if necessary as well as transportation to/from adoption events (no stay required) and vet appointments. We also rely on our volunteers knowledge of the animal they are fostering when we are trying to place the animal with potential adoptive families. Your input is valuable!
Our rescue will provide all medical care/expenses, medications, guidance and food if necessary.
There are many benefits for those who foster an animal in need. You become a part of a dedicated team who are making a difference in your community. When you agree to foster one of our animals, you are helping to save it's life as well as the life of another animal that will occupy the now open kennel at the county pound. Fostering will help teach your children about compassion, responsibility and community service. Fostering is a wonderful option for those who may be interested in becoming a pet owner but are not sure if it's for you...think of it as a trial run at pet ownership. (Yes, we do offer foster to adopt options, sometimes it's just too hard to let the foster go and families will often adopt their foster animal, becoming what we lovingly call "foster failures"!)
We can not save these animals without the help of loving fosters. We NEED you! The more fosters we have on our team, the more animals we can save.
If you think fostering is something you would be interested in, and would like to become a part of the Animal Rescue Friends (ARF!) team, please fill out a foster application. Once your application is received, we would be happy to contact you to discuss the fostering process!
